Amazon Addresses 'The Apprentice' Revival Speculation as Donald Trump Jr. Named as Potential Host

Could a new era of 'The Apprentice' be on the horizon? Recent reporting has fueled speculation about a potential revival of the reality competition series, with a notable twist from its original format.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Amazon has engaged in preliminary internal discussions about developing fresh episodes of the show following the company's acquisition of MGM. The reporting suggests that Donald Trump Jr., son of the current POTUS, could step into the hosting role previously held by his father.
Amazon moved quickly to address the speculation, issuing a statement to Variety that tempers expectations. "Since our acquisition of MGM, we have had preliminary internal discussions about what's next for The Apprentice as a property. The show is not in active development, and any reporting on details of the show or names of potential hosts would be purely speculative," the company said.
The streamer emphasized that such conversations remain confined to internal teams, with sources confirming that no talks have taken place with outside parties regarding the potential project.
Amazon has maintained a professional relationship with the Trump family in recent years, having produced and released the documentary 'Melania' earlier this year, which focused on the former and current First Lady.
While the revival remains firmly in the speculative realm, the comments from Amazon suggest the company is at least considering what a modernized version of the franchise might look like.
