The Bear Concludes With Season 5, Finale Premiering June 25

FX has confirmed that The Bear will wrap up with its fifth season.
The network made the announcement on Wednesday, May 6, revealing that the Emmy-winning series will conclude its run following the upcoming installment. Season 5 arrives on Hulu on June 25, with all eight episodes released simultaneously at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET, marking a departure from the staggered release pattern used in previous seasons.
The final season picks up immediately after Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie, and Natalie (Abby Elliott) learn that Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) has departed the food industry and left the restaurant in their hands. Facing financial constraints, the looming possibility of a sale, and a severe storm, the trio and their team attempt one final service in hopes of securing a Michelin star. Along the way, they discover that a restaurant's true perfection may lie not in its cuisine, but in the people running it.
A day prior to the season announcement, FX unveiled a surprise prequel episode. The special installment takes viewers back to follow Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) and Mikey (Jon Bernthal) as they travel to Gary, Indiana for work. The episode explores the complexity of their friendship while revealing new dimensions of Mikey's mental health and providing backstory on who Richie becomes before audiences meet him in Season 1. Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Jon Bernthal co-wrote the episode, with series creator Christopher Storer directing.
The Bear debuted in 2022 and made an immediate impact, earning 10 Emmy Awards in its inaugural season. A cast member had hinted at the series ending in a social media post in early March, though FX's official confirmation came this week.
