Gen V Ends Run After Two Seasons as Prime Video Shifts Focus to The Boys Universe
Prime Video has pulled the plug on Gen V, concluding the young-adult spinoff after two seasons. The series, which branched off from the blockbuster hit The Boys, wrapped production roughly half a year ago.
The cancellation arrives as cast members have begun taking on new projects elsewhere. Asa Germann, a key player in Gen V's ensemble, recently secured a spot in the upcoming Paramount+ series Frisco King.
Rather than leaving fans in the lurch, the streamer plans to carry forward the show's storylines through other corners of the expanding Boys universe. Executives Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg confirmed the characters will resurface across future endeavors. "While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we're committed to continuing the Gen V characters' stories in The Boys season five and other VCU projects on the horizon. You'll see them again," they stated.
The flagship series The Boys is currently in its fifth and final season on Prime Video, marking the conclusion of the original show. Vought Rising, a prequel series set within the same world, is scheduled to debut in 2027. Additionally, a Mexico-based spinoff is in development.
The Boys' latest season has already made waves, with a significant character meeting their end in the premiere episode.
