Hugh Jackman's 'The Death of Robin Hood' Teaser Evokes Gritty 'Logan' Energy

April 21, 2026

Hugh Jackman's upcoming film The Death of Robin Hood has unveiled a brooding new teaser, and viewers are drawing immediate parallels to the actor's acclaimed superhero outing Logan.

The cast includes Jodie Comer, Bill Skarsgård, Murray Bartlett, and Noah Jupe, with Michael Sarnoski at the helm. The film is slated for theatrical release on June 19.

When the project was first announced, Sarnoski shared his vision for the material. "It has been an incredible opportunity to reinvent and freshly innovate the story we all know of Robin Hood," the director said. "Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way."

The premise finds Robin Hood wrestling with demons from his violent past, left severely wounded following what he believed would be his final battle. A mysterious woman then provides him with an unexpected path toward redemption.

Much like Logan's portrayal of a weathered, aging Wolverine steeped in a grittier aesthetic, this Robin Hood adaptation appears to embrace a similarly raw and worn tone. The teaser trailer showcases that darker sensibility, which has resonated with audiences comparing it to Jackman's earlier character study.
