The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 3 Coming to Prime Video in 2026

Fans of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have reason to celebrate. The highly anticipated third season is on its way, and it's arriving sooner than expected.

Following the second season's 2024 debut, speculation had circulated that viewers wouldn't see the show return until 2027. However, insiders have confirmed the series will touch down in 2026, delivering the next chapter of Middle-earth's epic saga this year.

The upcoming season jumps ahead temporally from the events of Season 2, positioning itself during the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron. As the conflict reaches its peak, the Dark Lord focuses his efforts on crafting the One Ring—the instrument of power he believes will secure his victory in the war and allow him to conquer all of Middle-earth.

The announcement comes as production continues on the sprawling fantasy adaptation for Prime Video.
