Jami Gertz Steps Out Publicly with Husband Anthony Ressler at LACMA Gala

April 19, 2026

Jami Gertz emerged from her low-profile life in Hollywood to attend a high-profile event with her husband this week. The actress, who has largely stepped away from the entertainment industry in recent years, joined Anthony Ressler at LACMA's Opening Gala for The David Geffen Galleries on Thursday, April 16, in Los Angeles.

The 60-year-old is perhaps best remembered for her roles in films including The Lost Boys and Twisters, though her acting work has been minimal over the past decade. Her appearance alongside Ressler marked one of her infrequent public outings in recent times.

The couple made headlines not only for their presence at the event but also for their substantial contribution to the institution. Jami and Anthony donated $50 million to LACMA to establish the Ressler Family Wing, cementing their support for the museum's expansion.

Ressler, an investor with a reported net worth of $10 billion, is well known in financial circles. What many don't realize, however, is that when the two married 37 years ago, the dynamic was quite different. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter from several years back, Jami reflected on their early relationship: "Everyone thinks I married a rich guy. But I made more money—way more money—than Tony when I met him. I paid for our first house. I paid for our first vacation. I married him because I fell in love with him."

Beyond their philanthropic endeavors, the pair are owners of the NBA's Atlanta Hawks, which they acquired in 2015 for an estimated $720 million.
