'The Pitt' Season 3: Production Timeline, Setting, and Episode Count Announced

The medical drama is preparing for its next chapter. Season 3 of The Pitt is poised to begin production this June, with several key details now locked in about what fans can expect.
The new season will be set in early November, just before the holiday season arrives. According to star Noah Wyle, this timeframe will "usher in a whole new set of emergencies and confrontations and complications" for the characters.
On the production front, Wyle confirmed that the team is ready to move forward. "We're about to start production on Season 3," he shared. Executive producer and director John Wells echoed the timeline, noting that the crew will "be back in production in June."
As for when viewers will see the new episodes, there's good news on the horizon. The show is expected to maintain its established release pattern, with both previous seasons premiering in early January. Season 1 debuted on January 9, 2025, followed by season 2 on January 8, 2026. Following that same Thursday evening schedule, season 3 episode 1 is anticipated to arrive on January 7, 2027.
Wells revealed that the team is "planning to be back on the air again the same week in January with 15 episodes next year," giving audiences a substantial amount of content to look forward to.
The upcoming season will also see some significant cast changes, though details on those departures remain limited at this time.
