The Price is Right Makes History as Contestant Wins Record-Breaking $240K in Single Pricing Game

A new milestone has been reached on The Price is Right. During Friday's Mother's Day broadcast, contestant Vanesa from Vermont, a retired veteran, claimed the show's largest prize ever for a single pricing game.
Playing "The Lion's Share," Vanesa walked away with $227,500 in cash and a $12,650 trip for two to Morocco, totaling $240,150. Host Drew Carey confirmed the historic achievement, announcing that Vanesa had become the biggest pricing game winner in Price is Right daytime history.
The game mechanics require contestants to first guess prices of grocery items, earning the chance to select 5 balls from a pool of 40. Each ball contains either a cash prize or an item, though five balls result in losing everything accumulated. Players can choose to cash out at any point or continue playing.
Vanesa's selections proved fortunate. Her first ball revealed $2,500, followed by $25,000—a sum significant enough to bring her to the floor. Her next two picks each contained $100,000, and her final selection was the Morocco trip.
This victory surpasses the previous record of $210,000, which was set during a Cliffhangers game in 2016. The game carries a maximum possible prize of $500,000, featuring five $100,000 balls among the 40 options. BetMGM sponsors the game.
