Queen Latifah Joins 'The Voice' as New Coach

Queen Latifah is bringing her talents to NBC's hit competition series 'The Voice' as a first-time coach.

The Grammy Award-winning artist will take a seat alongside Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and Riley Green on the coaching panel for the new season, which is slated to premiere this fall.

Latifah's path to entertainment stardom began in the late 1980s when she emerged as one of hip-hop's pioneering female artists. Her music career established her as a powerful voice in the genre, blending rap with themes of empowerment and social awareness. Her 1993 track "U.N.I.T.Y." became one of her most iconic songs and earned her a Grammy Award. Throughout her recording years, she has released numerous albums spanning hip-hop, jazz, and soul.

Beyond her work in music, Latifah has built a thriving acting career with notable performances in both film and television. She received an Academy Award nomination for her role in the 2002 film adaptation of the musical Chicago. More recently, she has starred as the lead in CBS' action series The Equalizer.
