Tiger Woods Returns to Instagram With Memorial Day Tribute to Late Father

Tiger Woods has resurfaced on social media after an extended absence, marking his return to Instagram on Monday (May 25) with a meaningful post.

The 50-year-old golfer's message came months after completing treatment at a Swiss facility in the wake of his March DUI arrest. Rather than addressing recent events, Woods chose to commemorate Memorial Day by paying tribute to his father, Earl Woods.

"My father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service," Woods shared on his Instagram Story. "To all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices. Without them we wouldn't have the greatest country on Earth."

Earl Woods, who completed two tours of duty in Vietnam, passed away in 2006 at age 74 following a heart attack.

Earlier this month, Woods was spotted returning to Florida after spending approximately a month in rehab treatment abroad.

Legal Proceedings Continue

Woods faces ongoing legal matters stemming from a March 27 incident. That day, he was involved in a rollover car crash on Jupiter Island in Florida, leading to his arrest on charges including driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to a test.

Following his arrest, Woods entered a not guilty plea. Court filings show his attorney requested a waiver of arraignment and demanded a jury trial. His driver's license has been suspended as a result of the incident.

Woods is scheduled to appear in court on July 7 to address the charges.

His girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, has since publicly commented on the situation.
