Autopsy Report Details Revealed in Death of Martin Short's Daughter Katherine

The Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner has released details surrounding the death of Katherine Short, the 42-year-old daughter of actor Martin Short.

Katherine died at her Los Angeles home on February 23, with her death ruled a suicide. According to documents obtained by Us Weekly, Martin Short had initiated a welfare check after being unable to contact his daughter for more than 24 hours. He reached out to one of Katherine's friends requesting they look in on her.

Upon arriving at the residence, the friend discovered multiple notes positioned on the door and immediately contacted emergency services.

The autopsy report noted that Katherine had struggled with depression and other mental health conditions throughout her life. Testing revealed the presence of benzodiazepines in her system at the time of her death.

Martin Short addressed his daughter's passing publicly earlier this month, sharing his grief with the public during an extremely difficult period for the family.
