Tyrant Thriller Expands Cast with Hudson Williams, Omar Apollo, Paapa Essiedu, and Nara Smith
The cast for the forthcoming thriller Tyrant continues to grow. The project, helmed by director David Weil, has brought Hudson Williams, Omar Apollo, Paapa Essiedu, and Nara Smith into the fold.
The film already features Charlize Theron, Julia Garner, and Demi Moore in its lineup. However, specific character details for the newly added performers have not yet been disclosed.
Described as a high-stakes thriller drawing inspiration from Wall Street and Whiplash, the film centers on New York City's exclusive fine dining world. Weil both directed and wrote the screenplay, developing the story alongside Cody Behan. The director is known for creating the Prime Video series Hunters and the miniseries Solos, as well as co-creating Apple TV's Invasion.
Production is scheduled to commence in Los Angeles during 2026. Amazon and Picture Company acquired the rights following a competitive bidding process. When Charlize Theron joined the project late last year, momentum accelerated significantly. Multiple stars subsequently pursued roles, with Julia Garner ultimately securing a co-starring position.
No official release date has been announced for the film at this time.
