Vanessa Kirby and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II are in production on their latest project, capturing scenes for the highly anticipated sci-fi thriller Liminal on Sunday afternoon (May 10) in Queens, New York.

The two leads were observed on set conversing with crew members as they prepared for filming. Kirby, 38, dressed in a sleek black bodysuit for the shoot, while Abdul-Mateen II, 39, layered a gray jacket over a red jacket, completing the look with brown pants and sunglasses.

The film draws from the graphic novel "Telepaths," created by J. Michael Strazzynski, Steve Epting, and Brian Reber. The story unfolds in a universe where ten percent of humanity suddenly develops telepathic abilities following an electromagnetic disturbance. The narrative centers on newly telepathic Boston police officers who face off against a group led by an individual wrongly imprisoned, seeking to flee a world where their newfound powers would mark them as threats. The movie's specific plot details remain under wraps for now.

Apple Studios is producing the film, with Justin Rhodes handling writing duties and Louis Leterrier directing. Currently, no release date has been announced for Liminal.

Looking ahead, Kirby will reprise her role as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman from the Fantastic Four franchise in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, slated for theatrical release on December 19.
