aespa and G-Dragon Join Forces on New Single "WDA (Whole Different Animal)"

aespa made their return on Monday, May 11, with a fresh collaboration that brings together two major forces in K-pop. The girl group dropped their new single "WDA (Whole Different Animal)," which features superstar G-Dragon and serves as the opening track from their forthcoming second full-length album, LEMONADE, slated for release on May 29.

The song blends hip-hop elements with dance production, anchored by heavy synth basslines and a memorable hook that immediately catches the ear. The group's vocal performance carries the central message: "It is what it is, they'd be like, 'Who's she?' / She's a whole different animal."

The track represents another evolution in aespa's artistic journey. G-Dragon, leader of BIGBANG, contributes his signature rap delivery and commanding stage presence, bringing an added layer of intensity to the group's established sound.

Accompanying the single is an accompanying music video that delves into themes of digital existence and identity. The visual explores a landscape where the boundary between the physical and virtual worlds has grown increasingly blurred, raising questions about the nature of authenticity itself. Throughout the clip, figures resembling aespa appear and multiply, generating an unsettling atmosphere before the group ultimately breaks through the chaos to reassert their true identities.

This creative direction builds on aespa's longstanding narrative framework, which has centered on the duality between their real-world presence and their virtual counterparts, æ-aespa. The new video expands on this mythology while commenting on contemporary digital culture, where images are infinitely replicated and consumed. By deliberately obscuring the line between original and copy, authentic and artificial, the visual invites audiences to contemplate what authenticity truly means in an increasingly digital age.

LEMONADE is now available for pre-order through the group's official channels in multiple editions. aespa will also embark on the 2026-27 LIVE TOUR – SYNK : COMPLæXITY, with tour dates and ticket information available for fans.
