West Wilson Opens Up About Amanda Batula Romance and Fallout With Co-Stars
West Wilson is speaking out about the dramatic fallout from his new romance with fellow Summer House cast member Amanda Batula.
The 31-year-old's relationship with the 34-year-old Batula became public last month, creating significant tension within their tight-knit group of co-stars. The revelation proved particularly difficult for Ciara Miller, who maintains a close friendship with Batula and previously dated Wilson herself a few summers back.
For Batula, the relationship marks her first public romance following her split from Kyle Cooke, her husband and fellow Summer House star, earlier this year.
During Monday's episode of his Show Me Something podcast, Wilson tackled the mounting criticism head-on. He specifically addressed speculation circulating online about the timeline of their connection, firmly denying any romantic overlap with Batula's previous relationship.
"There was no overlap. I know there's a thousand different theories on the internet right now but that is one thing that for sure did not happen," Wilson told co-host Sophie Cunningham. "Everyone was single."
He went on to describe how he and Batula came to realize the depth of their feelings for each other. "We realized things between them were a little bit serious," he explained.
Since making their relationship official, Wilson has kept a low profile and largely stayed away from social media. That said, he has made efforts to reach out to several of his Summer House castmates to discuss the situation directly.
"I've sent some texts. Haven't gotten responses from everybody yet, which is to be expected and I get it. That's the hardest part," Wilson acknowledged. "I think with this whole situation is my actions have hurt people I care about. But the reunion's coming up and I can give those apologies face-to-face and also clear up all of the crazy stuff that's been on the internet."
Summer House airs Tuesday nights at 8pm ET on Bravo.
