Meryl Streep and Martin Short Spark Dating Rumors Amid Devil Wears Prada 2 Press Tour

Meryl Streep and Martin Short have become the subject of romantic speculation, though neither actor has officially addressed the dating rumors.
The 76-year-old Academy Award winner is currently promoting The Devil Wears Prada 2, which debuted in theaters this past weekend. The long-anticipated sequel marks her return to the iconic role that defined her career.
Speculation about Streep and Short's relationship began in 2024 when the Mamma Mia star joined the cast of his acclaimed Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building. While the two have maintained a friendship spanning many years, their professional collaboration appears to have fueled tabloid interest in a potential romance.
During a recent conversation with Andy Cohen, Streep hinted at ongoing discussions with her co-star about future theatrical projects. "Oh, I would love to do so. I was talking with Marty Short about that," she revealed when asked about the possibility of returning to Broadway.
Streep's romantic history includes a four-decade marriage to sculptor Don Gummer, whom she wed in 1978. The couple separated in 2018 after 40 years together and share four adult children: Henry Wolfe Gummer, 46; Mary Willa "Mamie" Gummer, 42; Grace Jane Gummer, 39; and Louisa Jacobson Gummer, 34.
Short, too, has experienced significant loss in his personal life. He was married to actress Nancy Dolman for 30 years before she passed away from ovarian cancer in 2010.
