Mike Vrabel's Wife Jennifer: Inside Their Marriage Since Ohio State

April 22, 2026

The recent surfacing of photos showing New England Patriots Head Coach Mike Vrabel and NFL sportswriter Dianna Russini together at a Sedona resort—followed by kissing photos from 2020—has drawn attention back to the coach's marriage. Both Vrabel and Russini initially denied any romantic involvement in the situation.

Mike Vrabel, now 50, took over as head coach of the New England Patriots just over a year ago in early 2025, with his wife Jennifer present on his first day in the role.

The couple's connection traces back decades. Both were student-athletes at Ohio State University, where Vrabel played college football before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1997. Jennifer competed as a volleyball player. The two dated during their time on campus and married in 1999. Vrabel later played for the New England Patriots from 2001 to 2008.

Together, they have two sons: Tyler, 25, and Carter, 24.

After leaving the NFL as a player, Vrabel transitioned into coaching. During his time as head coach of the Tennessee Titans in 2018, he spoke fondly of his wife's role in his career. "I love her to death. She's been through a lot, and she understands this league," he said.

In 2024, the couple marked 25 years of marriage with an extended trip to Italy. They described it to the New York Times as his "first true vacation … maybe ever."

When discussing their life during the season, Jennifer highlighted Friday nights as a cherished tradition. She told ESPN: "It's fun. He's usually home earlier, and we grab dinner. When he coached in college, he really didn't have a night like that, so we cherish that night. It was the same when he played. Fridays were always the best. It became like a date night or family night."
