Abbey Romeo's Mom Clarifies Split From 'Love on the Spectrum' Co-Star David Isaacman
The beloved couple from Netflix's Love on the Spectrum has called it quits, and now Abbey Romeo's mother is setting the record straight about what led to the split.
Abbey and David Isaacman ended their four-and-a-half-year relationship, prompting Christine Romeo to share her perspective in a recent YouTube video. She highlighted how significantly her daughter has evolved since becoming active on social media and appearing on the series.
"Abbey has grown a ton since she started both social media and Love on the Spectrum," Christine explained. "She started to understand her own story, see herself as a person with autism in the world, learn how to accept her autism and still try to have a relationship and fit in."
According to Christine, the former couple simply discovered incompatibilities in their approaches to life. "David was happy in his way of doing life. And Abbey's was different. And they found that out over this period of time," she noted, adding that she remains grateful to David for helping her daughter gain clarity about herself.
Christine stressed the importance of understanding autism in relationships differently than neurotypical dynamics. "Please don't judge autistic relationships as if they were typical. So many people on the spectrum are not going to do what typical people do," she said.
The mother also took aim at sensationalized reporting surrounding the breakup, firmly denying rumors of conflict. "There was no fight. All the headlines — that's nonsense. There was no fight over engagements and rings being thrown around," Christine stated.
She concluded by expressing her belief that the pair will maintain a lasting connection despite their romantic split.
