Zendaya Sitting Out the 2026 Met Gala

Zendaya won't be gracing the red carpet at this year's Met Gala.
The 29-year-old Emmy-winning actress is sitting out the May 4 event in New York City, Elle confirmed on Friday. According to the publication, the star is prioritizing downtime following back-to-back press tours for her movie The Drama and the third season of Euphoria. She plans to step back before diving into promotion for her upcoming summer releases: The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Just days earlier on Wednesday, Zendaya made a public appearance in Sherman Oaks, California, where she attended the Bero Padel Classic event to support longtime partner Tom Holland, widely believed to be her husband.
The actress has built a notable history with the fashion institution, having graced the Met Gala seven times since her 2015 debut. Her most memorable appearance came in 2024, when she served as co-chair and made a particular impression with two show-stopping looks on the red carpet. Last year, she wore an all-white Louis Vuitton suit to the event.
Zendaya joins several other notable figures who have opted to skip the 2026 Met Gala.
